Granite By Design exceeded our expectations with their exceptional workmanship, transparency and outstanding team. They delivered exactly what we envisioned for our 1950 Avondale home kitchen remodel. Every detail, from the first call we had with John, to the countertop measurements by the owner was unique. The quote was on par with other local Charleston fabricators, we did our homework and these guys are the best in the business. The final in-person 3D marble design consultation made it so easy to visualize how our slabs would look in our kitchen. The technology they have on-site ensures their cuts are flawless and finely executed.


First off, John was top-notch on the phone and via email. He was kind, genuine, and prompt. I felt at ease the minute he talked to us. John's top priority was to deliver us with the vision and quality we wanted. What we loved about him was his honest feedback, quality service, and commitment to not cutting any corners (no pun intended).


The installers were top-tier. Christian and his crew ensured every piece of stone and detail was perfectly placed. They were perfectionist - no other way to say it. He made sure everything was precise, a quality you rarely see in this business, which means so much to us. I can honestly say the install crew treated our marble like it was their home.


Icing on the cake; our contractor walked into the kitchen after the waterfall islands were placed and said that this work was rare, not just anyone can do this!


John went above and beyond to make sure everything was delivered ahead of schedule, even early in time for Father's Day, a special occasion that I had planned. In fact, the installation happened on our wedding anniversary where we celebrated by cooking just the two of us in our new kitchen.
This team knows how to make life moments happen flawlessly and with the utmost care. They work to perfection.

Lea and her team were amazing. My new marble counter top is not only beautiful but the team nailed the dimensions exactly! Even the cut out for the sink was perfect! In addition, Granite by Design was the only shop I could find that has a few lovely marble types that you can buy for a small area without having to buy a whole slab! Thank you again- I love my new countertops!

Very professional workers and Lea is the best to work with. She is extremely helpful with anything you may need and stays on top of the install and clients needs. The newly updated countertops look beautiful and increase the value of our home tremendously. I would highly recommend Granite by Design for any type of countertop you would like to replace, because you cannot go wrong with Lea. Worth every penny! I will definitely use her again on my next house!

John Beale and the team did a great job on a property I was renovating. They replaced the kitchen and bathroom countertops with a beautiful quartz and cut and installed a leathered granite on the fireplace surround and hearth. Everything turned out beautifully!

Granite by Design did a fabulous job on the countertops of our new home! The kitchen, island and bathroom countertops all came out great. John was there from day one walking us through the process. He was informative and patient with our many questions. He met with us when we had a concern and offered suggestions. Jaime and the team did a great job with the installation. The team was professional and took care of all the little details. They took pride in their work and did not take any shortcuts. Kudos to a great team!

Granite by Design did an excellent job with our countertops and full backsplash. We worked with John Beale and he helped us literally every step of the way from stone selection to checking on us after installation. The men that did the installation were amazing as well. It was a pleasure to work with this company and if we ever need countertops again, we will definitely use Granite by Design.

Super happy with the beautiful fabrication and install of our marble countertops and backsplash by John Beale and the team. Although John did try to talk us out of using Encore as the source of materials (which I suggest they embrace more going forward), they did agree to work with them on our project and it turned out beautifully. Everyone was highly communicative and the install team were fantastic as well. We will definitely call them again for our next renovation.

We just had our primary bathroom renovated. John and his crew did a fantastic job. The quartz I wanted was not available in the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area. It had to come from Atlanta. John was able to have it delivered over here - which was no easy task. I asked John to try to get as much veining to come through on the countertop as he could. He did a great job with that. The veining is beautiful and even runs up the backsplash in places. It is apparent he took great care in trying to get the results we wanted. Our bathroom is gorgeous with the quartz countertop being the main focus. We would use John and Granite by Design again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this company. Thanks, John!!

We have restored many houses is Charleston and this team (led by John) was amazing. They figure out all of issues with an install. Especially in an uneven historic building.

I had the pleasure of working with Lea Carmargo at Grsnite by Design. She is the ultimate professional- taking me from the vision I had for my kitchen countertops to the final beautiful result. Lea's excellence of service was displayed iby handling my many questions along the way, an in- home visit and thorough knowledge of the process to allow me a sense of calm in executing my project myself. She even helped me identify a cabinet maker. Lea is a trusted professional for me in her industry and someone I know I can count on. Will use her talents again for my powder room project.
